Description

Key Role:

Provide support to federal government clients in the areas of occupant emergency planning, continuity of operations, pandemic influenza planning, environmental homeland security, drills and exercises, emergency communications, and program management. Provide daily client support for security, emergency preparedness, and homeland security programs. Develop emergency plans, standard operating procedures, and evacuation and shelter-in-place guidance. Conduct and evaluate evacuation and shelter-in-place drills and tabletop exercises. Develop training presentations and materials for instructor-led training on emergency preparedness concepts. Support the planning and execution of annual National Preparedness Month events and emergency communications initiatives. Develop content for outreach materials on emergency preparedness themes and best practices. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with homeland security, emergency management, and environmental science and policy

-Experience with writing and developing a variety of work products, including standard operating procedures, after-action reports, PowerPoint presentations, user guides, and quick-reference guides

-Experience in interfacing with clients and customers, including participating in client meetings, presenting work products to clients, and working directly with clients

-Experience with developing and implementing emergency plans, including occupant emergency plans, shelter-in-place plans, continuity of operations plans, and business continuity plans

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or Environmental Science and Policy

Additional Qualifications:-Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards related to safety and emergency preparedness

-Knowledge of environmental regulations, including CAA, CWA, CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA

-Knowledge of emergency communications tools, technologies, and management practices

-Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Associate Emergency Manager (AEM), or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Certifications preferred
